About GPad Tester
The #1 free, browser-based platform for testing and diagnosing gaming controllers — built by a gamer, for gamers.
Our Story — How It All Started
GPad Tester was born out of frustration. In late 2025, our founder Tabassum Khan noticed stick drift on a nearly new PS5 DualSense controller while playing competitive FPS games. The crosshair kept drifting ever so slightly — enough to lose critical gunfights.
After searching online for a quick way to diagnose the issue, the options were disappointing: most existing gamepad testers were barebones tools showing only basic button presses, with no real diagnostics, no drift analysis, no latency measurement, and no way to understand how bad the problem actually was.
So, leveraging 7+ years of web development experience and a deep passion for gaming and building free tools, Tabassum set out to create the most comprehensive, professional-grade gamepad diagnostic platform available on the web — completely free, with no downloads, no sign-ups, and no data collection.
Today, GPad Tester offers 10 specialized diagnostic tools that go far beyond simple button detection — from measuring input latency in milliseconds to analyzing potentiometer degradation with heatmap visualization. Every tool is engineered with the precision that competitive gamers demand and the simplicity that casual gamers appreciate.
Our Mission
Give every gamer free, instant access to professional-grade controller diagnostics — right in their browser.
Whether you've just unboxed a brand new PS5 DualSense, suspect your Xbox Elite controller has developed stick drift after years of use, or need to verify input lag before a tournament — GPad Tester gives you the tools to check every aspect of your controller's health without spending a dime or downloading software.
We believe that every gamer deserves to know their controller is performing at its best. A broken controller shouldn't cost you the match, the speedrun record, or the clutch play. Our tools empower you with the data to diagnose issues early, fix them yourself, or make informed decisions about repairs and replacements.
Our Complete Diagnostic Toolkit
10 purpose-built tools covering every aspect of controller health. Click any tool to launch it instantly.
Button Test

Vibration Test
Check rumble motor functionality with custom intensity sliders, vibration presets, and a full automated diagnostic sequence.
Latency Test
Measure input lag and response times with real-time charts, statistical analysis, and letter-grade performance ratings.
Stick Drift Test
Detect unwanted stick movement with heatmap visualization, drift severity scoring, circularity analysis, and tremor detection.
Deadzone Test
Measure and calibrate analog stick dead zones with auto-suggested values, game presets, and response curve visualization.
Trigger Pressure Test
Test trigger sensitivity with real-time pressure meters, linearity graphs, actuation points, and hysteresis analysis.
Connection Stability
Monitor wireless connection quality with continuous tracking, stress tests, and disconnect detection alerts.
Gyroscope Test
Test motion sensors with 3D orientation tracking, pitch/roll/yaw readouts, and gyro aiming simulation.
Touchpad Test
Test PlayStation touchpad input with position tracking, multi-touch detection, and gesture recognition.
Audio / Mic Test
Test controller audio output and built-in microphone with tone playback and recording verification.
How GPad Tester Works
GPad Tester uses the HTML5 Gamepad API built into modern web browsers. This is the same native browser technology that enables cloud gaming services like Xbox Cloud Gaming and GeForce Now. Here's what that means for you:
Connect Your Controller
Plug in via USB cable or pair through Bluetooth. Any controller your operating system recognizes will work.
Press Any Button
The browser requires one button press to "wake up" the Gamepad API. This is a security feature, not a bug.
Choose a Tool & Test
Select from the main tester or any of our 10 specialized diagnostic tools for deep analysis.
Review & Export Results
Check real-time feedback, review diagnostic scores, and export detailed CSV/JSON data for your records.
🔒 Your Privacy is Protected
All gamepad data is processed entirely on your device. We never collect, transmit, or store any controller input data, test results, or hardware identifiers. Zero data leaves your browser. Read our full Privacy Policy.
Supported Controllers
GPad Tester works with any controller that your operating system recognizes. We also offer dedicated tester pages optimized for specific controller families.
PlayStation Controllers
DualSense (PS5), DualShock 4 (PS4), DualShock 3 (PS3)
Nintendo Controllers
Switch Pro Controller, Joy-Con (L/R), 8BitDo Controllers
Launch Switch Tester →Also available: Joystick Tester for flight sticks, racing wheels, and custom HID devices.
Why Gamers Trust GPad Tester
Privacy-First Architecture
All data stays on your device. We never track your controller inputs, test results, or hardware identifiers. Zero data leaves your browser.
Professional-Grade Diagnostics
Not just "does the button work" — we measure drift magnitude, latency in milliseconds, circularity error, tremor noise floors, and trigger linearity curves.
Exportable Data
Export timestamped test logs as CSV or JSON — useful for warranty claims, hardware reviews, or comparing controllers before and after repairs.
Works Everywhere
Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Opera — on Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, and ChromeOS. If your browser supports the Gamepad API, our tools will work.
Meet the Creator

Tabassum Khan
Founder & Lead Developer
With over 7 years of hands-on web development experience, I've always been passionate about two things: writing clean, performant code and gaming. GPad Tester was born when these two passions collided — I needed a proper tool to diagnose controller issues but couldn't find one that met my standards.
As a full-stack developer who loves building free, open-access tools, I poured my expertise in JavaScript, browser APIs, and responsive design into creating the most comprehensive controller diagnostic platform on the web. Every line of code, every diagnostic algorithm, and every UI micro-interaction has been crafted with both precision and user experience in mind.
When I'm not coding or gaming, I'm researching controller hardware, studying potentiometer mechanics, and figuring out new ways to help gamers get the most out of their equipment. GPad Tester is and always will be 100% free — because every gamer deserves access to the right tools.
